Our night at the Illuminations began in the daylight, with many of our attendees drawn down to the beach by Central Pier to capture the stunning sunset before gathering by the pier’s entrance to begin the night. In our first meeting of the new season we were joined by our first guest speaker Stephanie Winnard, who presented “In the South Atlantic”. Stephanie’s talk took us on an adventure on the islands of South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands, a British overseas territory in the southern Atlantic Ocean, as she talked about her time spent working there with the British Antarctic Survey. From 5th August until September 1st 2017 North Fylde Photographic Society are showcasing some of our best prints from last season in our annual photographic exhibition at Fleetwood Library. The exhibition is available to view on the first floor of the library, and consists of multiple display cabinets and wall-space.

Over the summer break some of the members have been organising group trips out to photographic locations and events. Keep up with some of the photos they have been taking on our Facebook Group – North Fylde Photographic Society where many of our members show off what they’ve been working on, and discuss their images.
