This year North Fylde Photographic Society hosted the annual Five Way Battle, between local photographic clubs: Bispham, Garstang, Lytham St. Annes, Poulton, and North Fylde. A last-minute change to the programming saw Lee Sutton LRPS EFIAP ADPS DPAGB BPE4* step in to judge the competition. Lee is a member of both Chorley PS and Preston PS, and is an up and coming star photographer. Each club entered a very strong set of images, leading to a brilliantly entertaining night, and some close scoring. Our judge certainly had a difficult task to score the images, but did so with well-explained reasoning, care, and feedback.
In the end, after a night of superb images, the result was very close. By half time LSAPS were in the lead, followed by Poulton and North Fylde in joint second place. It was then nip and tuck to the very last round of entries. Lytham had dropped back a bit by then, and with only 1 entry remaining each, Poulton were ahead by 2 points. The final round of photos passed and North Fylde had just pipped the others to the post, winning by 1 point!
