The third of this season’s guest presentations was given by Gordon Jenkins APAGB MIoP.
Gordon is a man with many roles and distinctions in the world of photography: President and Treasurer of Chorley Photographic Society, Treasurer and former President of the L&CPU, Chairman of the BPE and, above all, the new President of the PAGB itself. So we were lucky and privileged to have such a busy man in our midst.
Our second guest speaker of the season, Wayne Paulo, a professional sports photographer with bags of enthusiasm, experience, and regular member at North Fylde Photographic Society, presented an auto-biographical story of his life working as a sports photographer. Continue reading “Wayne’s World of Sport”
In our first meeting of the new season we were joined by our first guest speaker Stephanie Winnard, who presented “In the South Atlantic”. Stephanie’s talk took us on an adventure on the islands of South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands, a British overseas territory in the southern Atlantic Ocean, as she talked about her time spent working there with the British Antarctic Survey. Continue reading “We Begin in the South Atlantic”
From 5th August until September 1st 2017 North Fylde Photographic Society are showcasing some of our best prints from last season in our annual photographic exhibition at Fleetwood Library. The exhibition is available to view on the first floor of the library, and consists of multiple display cabinets and wall-space.
Over the summer break some of the members have been organising group trips out to photographic locations and events. Keep up with some of the photos they have been taking on our Facebook Group – North Fylde Photographic Society where many of our members show off what they’ve been working on, and discuss their images.
So far we have had trips out to Southport Botanical Gardens, Morecambe Steampunk Festival, Liverpool Docks, and Leighton Moss RSPB reserve. You can read more on the outings page. Continue reading “Summer Break”
Our own Wayne Paulo hit the local news recently, after being awarded North Fylde Photographic Society’s Best Newcomer award. He landed in the Blackpool Gazette’s FYi magazine, with an article praising his recovery. In addition to a little promotion for the club! Continue reading “Newcomer Hits the News”
